The Building

Sustainability

LED
LED lighting is used throughout the building and uses 25% less energy than standard lighting*
COMBINED HEATING AND COOLING
Highly efficient and environmentally friendly technology is used to generate cooling, heating and power
CENTRAL ENERGY CENTRE
7 Air Street benefits from a central energy centre (CEC) which supplies energy to 3 neighbouring buildings, reducing energy and maintenance costs. The energy centre utilises innovative fuel cell technology which enables 350 tonnes of carbon to be saved annually*
GREEN ROOF
A species rich green roof, designed to attract endangered bird species and other wildlife will increase biodiversity. Several varieties of plants including wild flowers and bulb species, along with insect habitats foraged from local parks make up the green roof design
SOLAR PANELS
Photovoltaic panels are supplied as part of the green roof design. 23KW of PV panels provide a maximum carbon saving of circa 12%*
REDUCED EMISSIONS
Reducing carbon dioxide emissions through a series of retrofit measures, low energy and zero carbon technologies. Low energy air conditioning consumes 33% less electricity than standard air conditioning. Extensive cycle provision for staff promotes health and wellbeing, whilst minimising carbon emissions associated with commuting.*
INSULATION
Every level of the development has been considered to contribute towards the BREEAM rating. The wall insulation reduces heat loss through the walls by 65%*
